Is my PDF uploaded to any server?
No. The document is opened and drawn within your own browser with Mozilla's PDF.js library, and the image is generated with the Canvas API. The file never leaves your computer, which is why you can use it with confidential documents.
How many pages can I convert?
Up to 40 pages per batch, distributed among a maximum of 3 documents. If your PDF is longer, use the «Pages» field to go in sections (for example
1-40 and then 41-80).What resolution should I choose?
«Web — 108 dpi» is good for publishing on a page. Go up to 144 or 216 dpi if the PDF has small text or you are going to enlarge the image, and go down to 72 dpi if you only need thumbnails.
Can I convert only some pages?
Yes. Enter the numbers in the «Pages» field separated by commas and using hyphens for ranges:
1-5, 8, 12-14. Leave it empty to convert the entire document.Does it work with password-protected PDFs?
No. If the document is encrypted, the tool will notify you: first you will have to remove the password using the program you usually open it with.
Is the PDF text still text?
No: the result is an image, so the text can no longer be selected or searched. This is expected when what you want is to display the document within a website. If you need to preserve the text, leave the PDF as is.
¿Puedo volver a montar un PDF con las páginas ya optimizadas?
Sí. El botón «Volver a PDF» junta todas las páginas convertidas en un documento nuevo, con el mismo tamaño de hoja que el original. Nada más: el resto sigue convirtiéndose. Las páginas que no han salido aparecen en una lista aparte, debajo de la rejilla, con el motivo de cada una y un botón para reintentarlas. Las que sí han salido se pueden descargar una a una, en ZIP o en PDF sin esperar a nada.
